The Joy of Hedges

I’ve spent the last two years working on Hedge Britannia, a book about the history and current state of Britain’s hedges and hedgerows, and how they fit in with the story of British gardening, farming, and land ownership.

Along the way I’ve come across all sorts of bits and pieces and interesting ideas that don’t quite fit in the book, so I’m going to use this blog as a record of some of the hedges and incidents from history that relate to the themes of the book.
